My spell checker chirps every time I write “general counsel” as a plural noun. Tough. Like fish and deer, even when the top lawyer/s travel in packs, they do not need the extra s. So there, I proclaim, in all my grammatical belligerence. (I repress the tug at my shoulder that I write “several GCs blah blah blah,” for no solid reason but that a foolish consistency is the you know what.)
Before the applause dies down, long before you readers take your seats, I nominate this sublime profundity as what it is: simply put, the trenchant post of the century.
