When you are deeply interested in how law departments operate and can improve, your quest for insights and bloggable ideas knows no bounds. Autobiographical. No? I have to laugh when I look back and see the oddities that my interests have chased on this blawg (See my posts of Jan. 19, 2008 – social networks and LinkedIn; Oct. 31, 2007 – Google’s BookSearch – and Feb. 23, 2006 – Amazon; Dec. 31, 2006 on pre-1900 articles from the NY Times; Dec. 31, 2007 – Wikipedia; May 5, 2006 – academics who care about law departments; Jan. 3, 2008 – photographs on Flickr; Nov. 10, 2007 – movies and “Michael Clayton;” Jan. 4, 2008 – Google’s Blogsearch; May 24, 2005 – Google and “law department” vs “legal department;”
What’s missing are references to law departments in literature and all the material to be mined from poetry. More seriously, it is quite possible that doctoral candidates have written dissertations that pertain to law departments.
