The number of women lawyers in-house will soon equal the number of men lawyers. InsideCounsel, Jan. 2008 at 51, cites data from the most recent Hildebrandt law department benchmarking survey: “60% of in-house attorneys (median) are men and 40% are women” (See my post of Nov. 10, 2007 about gender differences and references cited.).
The value of patent lawyers. According to Robert H. Frank and Philip J. Cook, The Winner-Take-All Society (Penguin Books 1995) at 120, it has been estimated that “innovations can be imitated for an average of only 65 percent of their original cost, and that 60% of patented innovations are imitated within four years” (See my post of March 21, 2006: slender payoff from patent activity.).
