Your next breakthrough idea may already be sitting out there, somewhere in your legal department. This is the principal of innovation through positive deviance.
A positive deviance happens when someone breaks the fetters of tradition or proscribed ways of working, tries something unorthodox, and succeeds. The trick is to spot those positive deviances from normal, understand why they flourished, and spread the improve practice throughout the department.
