An explicit promotion by a law firm of its technology consulting services to law departments

I came across this description of a service available from Macleod Dixon, a UK firm soon to join Norton Rose.

“Technology Consulting and Support: In-house legal departments’ technology needs are often quite different from the technology needs and solutions in their business units. Macleod Dixon provides technology consulting to clients in the following areas:
• Legal technology application development and evaluation
• Document management
• Knowledge management
• End user training on specific applications
• Litigation support
• Intranet/extranet applications
• Case management “

That’s a comprehensive offer. Other than for e-discovery and some extranets, I haven’t heard of a law department that has hired a law firm to provide internal technology consulting.
